Casco Bay Cyclocross Race

An annual grassroots cyclocross race on the beautiful Eastern Promenade in Portland, Maine. The venue features stunning views of Casco Bay. The course weaves throughout the Prom and features manmade and natural obstacles, steep climbs, and a paved start/finish. Join us Sunday, October 23rd to experience this one-of-a-kind course for yourself: Register for the category that best matches your ability level and age bracket. CBCX is permitted by the City of Portland and sanctioned by USA Cycling. Mayor Strimling Office Hours at Hilltop Superette

Beginning September 13th, Mayor Ethan Strimling will hold office hours at businesses in neighborhoods around the city. Dubbing the effort "Strimling on the Street," the meeting times are designed to engage Portland residents as they go about their daily routines: getting a cup of coffee or a doughnut, visiting a hardware store, shopping for groceries, or grabbing some takeout.

Train to Ale - Road Closures on Hill

THIS SATURDAY - Annual Trail to Ale 10k to support Portland Trains! Beer, pizza, a dance party afterward. Don't miss it. Head's up on road closures. See details and the link below.

Portland Trail’s largest fundraiser, the Trail to Ale 10K, will occur on September 18th this year. Our race supports the 70 mile trail network throughout the city, and many of the trails in your own background. We’re excited for our 16t7 annual event this weekend, and look forward to over 2000 runners and fans to joining us in supporting trails, green spaces, and active transportation in Portland.

During the race the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic. Please make alternative travel plans during these times. -

1.     Cutter St. & Cutter St. parking lot, 6:45am-1:15pm (CLOSED TO ALL PARKING)

2.     Eastern Promenade Roadway from Congress St. to Washington Ave. 8:30-9:15am

3.     Washington Ave from Eastern Prom to Walnut St., 9:05-9:35am

4.     Fox St. from Washington Ave to Anderson St., 8:55-9:25am

5.     Anderson St. from Fox to Plowman St., 9:05-9:35am

6.     Plowman St., 9:05-9:35am

7.     Thru traffic will be cut off from Hammond St, Gould St,  and E. Cove St. from 9:05-9:35am.

Port Mile: Make a Splash Benefit Swim

Registration is now open for a one-mile open-water ocean swim to benefit Friends of Fort Gorges. The nonprofit organization is currently overseeing a preservation plan to assess restoration priorities to ensure this iconic historic structure is available for future generations to enjoy. The City At Your Feet - A Portland Trails Scavenger Hunt!

Join Portland TrailsMETRO (Greater Portland Transit District), your friends and neighbors for an adventurous scavenger hunt around Portland! Teams will travel through the city on foot, by bike, bus, skateboard, unicycle, rollerblades, pogo stick, (and maybe even on a ferry!) earning points for navigating trails, exploring neighborhood connections, and uncovering hidden gems.

Portland Bach Festival: Bach & Beer

Featuring the Zimmerman Players

There is a long history in classical music of combining good drink, good friends, and great music. With Bach and Beer, PBF revives the tradition by pairing local brews from Baxter Brewing Company, including the limited edition “Double Bach,” with short musical interludes by PBF artists, all at one of Portland’s most picturesque locations on Casco Bay.

Unveiled: The Final Touch to the Fort Allen Project

The finishing touch at Fort Allen will be the installation of twelve artistically crafted interpretive panels that tell the rich history of the significant landscape of the Eastern Promenade.

The unveiling of the panels is coordinated by Friends of the Eastern Promenade and will take place during the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, June 3 at 3pm
