The Munjoy Hill Observer is now online, bringing our rich heritage of reportage and community service to the Web!

Environment

From the waters of the Casco Bay to birds, pets, and garden soil, Munjoy Hill residents have long prioritized the safety of their land, air, sea, and fauna. Now the built environment has joined this crucial list of resources that needs our stewardship.

Community

Our people are storied: from the English settlers and Native Americans who signed treaties on Munjoy Hill to the subsequent waves of Italian and Jewish immigrants whose labor and commerce, religions and customs shaped our identity.

Arts

Here, we have always cherished the arts. Music, stage, canvas, film, and especially the written word. All have a forum on Munjoy Hill. From the East End Community School and St. Lawrence Arts, to the Eastern Promenade and its festivities.

Published by the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Organization, the Observer has been in print since 1979. Welcome to the Web!

The MHNO has published the Observer in its print form continuously for nearly 40 years. Many of you have been along since the beginning. Now, we are excited to bring the agility and diverse possibilities of an online community newspaper to you.
